Uplift with HeArt

The Journey of Making Spaces Brighter with Art

Introduction:

Welcome to this special blog post, where I introduce you to my new project, Uplift with HeArt. As a nature photographer with a love for capturing the delicate beauty of flowers, I've found a unique way to share my passion with others. In recent years, I've donated some of my work to adorn the walls of offices and waiting rooms for mental health and medical professionals in the area. Through this project, I aim to make spaces brighter with art and bring nature indoors to uplift the spirits of those who visit these spaces. Read on to learn more about the origins of Uplift with HeArt and the impact it has had so far.

The Birth of Uplift with HeArt:

While visiting various offices and waiting rooms, I noticed that many needed more budget for art, leaving their walls bare and uninviting. Art has undeniable power, especially when transforming spaces and elevating moods. As a nature photographer with a unique artistic approach, my painterly-style photographs of nature might profoundly impact people's well-being. After all, capturing and making art of nature gives me such healing and serenity. So I decided to donate my artwork to these spaces, hoping to provide tranquility and connection to nature for those who most need it. So far, in all cases, these donations have gone to the professionals I know personally. I want to extend the scope by meeting more recipients who will benefit from uplifting art in their space.

The Power of Art and Nature:

By using computer software to add a painterly effect to my nature photography, I strive to create images that evoke a sense of calm and serenity, reminiscent of Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings. Research has shown that exposure to nature, even through art, can reduce stress, lower anxieties, improve mood, and increase cognitive function. By bringing the beauty of nature indoors through my artwork, I aim to create a calming atmosphere for those navigating challenging moments in their lives.

Experiences and Testimonials:

Since starting Uplift with HeArt, I have received positive feedback that has touched my heart from both professionals and their clients. One therapist shared how a photograph of vibrant flowers in her office had become a conversation starter with her clients. My homeopath shared how one of my large floral images caused a highly overactive five-year-old little girl with ADHD to stop and stare in bewilderment for several seconds. My art therapist told me about how her autistic client became fixated on a painterly image of an iris. Finally, a friend shared how tranquil she felt while viewing my artwork in the waiting room before her therapy session.
